Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What type of storage unit do I need?

Drive-up accessible units are great for easy loading and unloading.  These units are intended for items that do not need to be temperature controlled such as items that you would typically store in a shed, attic, or garage.  Vehicles, motorcycles, and ATV’s may also be stored in drive-up units.

Climate Controlled units are intended to protect items from the outside elements.  The temperature and humidity levels in these buildings are monitored and maintained within industry standards.  These units are great for household furniture, electronics, documents, and collectibles.

  1. When can I access my storage space?

We aim to provide all customers with access 24/7, 365 days a year.

  1. Do I need to provide my own lock for my storage unit?

Storage World will provide a FREE high security disc lock to all new tenants.  The lock and keys are yours to keep at time of move-out.

Storage World does not cover any of the items being stored within the space and for this reason we require all customers to maintain insurance on their stored items.  We partner with StorSmart insurance and have many policies available.  If you have existing coverage, through your Homeowner’s or Renter’s policy, proof of insurance (ie. a declaration page) will need to be provided.

  1. When will I receive a bill for my storage rent?

We will automatically bill your credit card on file on the 1st of each month or the next business day if the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday.  We will only provide an invoice via email if requested.

  1. How long must I sign a rental agreement for?

The rental agreement is month-to-month.  We will pro-rate you at time of move-in depending on your start date.  We do not pro-rate out if you move out prior to your paid through date.

  1. How many days’ notice do I need to provide for vacating?

All tenants must provide a 10-day notice in writing.  This may be done in person, via text, or email.  The unit must be completely empty, in broom swept condition and the lock removed.

  1. What happens if my payment is not paid on the 1st of the month?

Any rent that is not paid on the 1st of the month is considered late.  Late fees will start to accumulate on the account on the 6th of the month.  Payments must be made in full.
